La sera del 24 febbraio, le sale di Palazzo Giureconsulti sono colme di artisti, giornalisti, appassionati del gioiello, di musica jazz, bollicine e un’atmosfera calda. Questi elementi contribuiscono a fare della soirée dedicata alla proclamazione dei vincitori di Artistar Jewels 2017 un successo, e non solo di pubblico. Scoprendo le stanze dedicate infatti, si ha la sensazione che Milano abbia riacquistato quell’eleganza mondana di un tempo, dove fare “salotto” non era solo per raccontare il giorno dopo di esserci stati, ma una vera e propria possibilità di interagire con il mondo dell’arte al fine di creare interazioni umane e progetti estetici.
C’è la “sciura” milanese, la coppia eccentrica, il ragazzo che batte i piedi a ritmo di musica, l’osservatore attendo delle opere esposte, l’intellettuale che gesticola, la giornalista con taccuino pronta a intervistare i presenti, i camerieri vestiti con divise inamidate color avorio… Tra queste figure ci sono i tre vincitori di quest’anno, ancora ignari.
Arriva finalmente il momento in cui è la giuria a prendere la parola, quello della premiazione, in cui i batti cardiaci salgono e gli occhi risplendono come le preziose gemme custodite nelle teche.

Composta da Elisabetta Barracchia, direttore di Vogue Accessory e direttore creativo moda di Vanity Fair, Maristella Campi, giornalista di moda, Bianca Cappello, storica e critica del gioiello, Gianni De Liguoro, socio fondatore e stilista del brand De Liguoro e protagonista di una esposizione inedita all’interno di una special area, Guido Solari, fondatore e titolare della Scuola Orafa Ambrosiana di Milano e Liza Urla, una delle jewelry blogger più famose e fondatrice di Gemologue, ha decretato vincitrici le opere di Emanuele Leonardi il quale, con “Valutazione del rischio” - collana scultura in bronzo, legno e pelle -, vuole esprimere la volontà dell’uomo di afferrare l’oggetto del desiderio che, però, talvolta può “spezzarsi” se non si valutano con attenzione tutti i rischi. L’artista romano è stato premiato anche all’edizione 2016. Anna Maria Pitt, vincitrice per il suo ornamento “Backbone” in argento ispirato alle vertebre delle renne selvatiche. La designer nata in Islanda, si è trasferita nel Regno Unito dove si è laureata con il massimo dei voti presso la New Bucks University. Realizza gioielli con tecniche di connessione a freddo creando pezzi geometrici ispirati alla natura. Omaggiata anche la designer russa Evgeniia Balashova che ha presentato ad Artistar la creazione “Buffer Bangle”, combinazione di forme organiche e linee geometriche che mostra il caos organizzato dell’ambiente di un ufficio. Gli elementi organici del pezzo sono stati riciclati dalle cerniere della tastiera di un computer e poi ricoperti d’argento. Infine, la menzione speciale è andata ad Alena Willroth per il gioiello “Chrysaora Alba”.
Tra le successive premiazioni, come quella che offre la possibilità di collaborare con De Liguoro e quella della mostra itinerante presso prestigiose gallerie, per le quali hanno vinto creativi come Reem Jano Jewelry con l’opera “Piano Piano”, Arianna Celentano con “Secular Time” e Artefatto con “Punti di vista”, è di particolare interesse l’opportunità di partecipare gratuitamente al corso di Oreficeria Professionale messa in palio dalla Scuola Orafa Ambrosiana. I vincitori di questa categoria sono, di nuovo, Evgeniia Balashova, Arianna Celentano e Paola Regioni con “Chronos”.

Ci sono molte persone, e non è semplice districarsi tra loro, ma quando si riesce ad arrivare alle vetrine dove sono esposte le 350 opere di gioielleria contemporanea si viene travolti da tutto il potere creativo che le caratterizza: metalli preziosi e nobili si alternano a quelli meno pregiati, sostenibili e raw. Tecniche artigianali si estendono a quelle meccaniche come il 3D. A enfatizzare quest’ultimo processo sono le opere in acciaio nero di Morphé London. Proseguendo il percorso ci si accorge di come nonostante le forti differenze, ciò che accomuna ogni oggetto è il suo essere tattile, materiale. Ne sono un esempio i gioielli realizzati in oro 18 carati e diamanti ruvidi dell’israeliana Anna Ben Ruby Jewelery Design e le collane made in USA di Parme Marin, tra le quali spicca il gioiello “Hedgehog II”, in pelle e perline, per il quale sono state necessarie più di 300 ore di lavoro.
L’estetica è la nota che offre più emozioni, attraverso ritmi diversi. E se le opere di Gillo Dorfles per San Lorenzo - ospite d’eccezione insieme a GianCarlo Montebello e Philip Sajet -, sono un manifesto biografico di questa veste, tra i 142 artisti presenti, si distinguono a livello visivo ed emozionale gli orecchini “Buds” della norvegese Ruta Naujalyte. Realizzati in tessuti colorati e intrecciati con la tecnica del micro uncinetto, sono un vero e proprio emblema di armonia dei colori. Forme pure ma di un’eleganza sofisticata sono invece i gioielli proposti dal duo greco Labros & Semeli, gli orecchini “Amazzonia” in argento e amazzonite dell’italiana Maria Azzurra Caridi e, infine, le opere di Manuale Jewelry dal Portogallo, un esempio di come dimensioni importanti possono risultare sublimi.

Il vernissage giunge al termine. C’è ancora chi vorrebbe parlare, abbeverarsi delle sensazioni che i gioielli trasmettono. Gli ospiti scendono le scale del maestoso palazzo milanese con la consapevolezza di aver vissuto una serata unica, interrotta solo dal passare del tempo.
Tutte le opere sono presenti all’interno del libro “Artistar Jewels 2017” edito da Logo Fausto Lupetti, mentre i testi introduttivi sono curati da Eugenia Gadaleta esperta di gioiello contemporaneo e Marketing & Communication Manager di Artistar e Selene Oliva, giornalista freelance di moda e gioiello. Il volume viene venduto in tutte le librerie italiane e nelle principali capitali europee.
