Gianmarco Cipolloni riceve il premio da Lectra e G.A. Operations S.p.a
- Con l’imperfezione vogliamo concepire un nuovo modo di vedere la perfezione -. Con questo motto l’Istituto Secoli ha spiegato il tema scelto per la 34esima edizione del Secoli Fashion Show: Im-perfetto, ovvero - oltre gli stereotipi, oltre la servilità, oltre i preconcetti -, prosegue il manifesto. Se si vuole agire in questi termini però, serve qualcosa di tangibile, di concreto, per fare di tali astrazioni una testimonianza. Questo avviene la sera di giovedì 15 giugno presso il club Alcatraz di Milano, con la sfilata dei settantacinque studenti dell’ultimo anno di corso e dei master.
Scomposizione - ricomposizione, assenza - mancanza, difetto, illusione, kaos (con l’ausilio di Cupro di Asahi Kasei, ndr), bellezza altra, gigantismo e distorsione, sono gli otto i sotto-temi di Im-perfetto. Questi corrispondono ad altrettante collezioni per un totale di centododici capi, sia maschili che femminili, che hanno sfilato in passerella, aprendo così la settimana della moda maschile di Milano.
- With imperfection we want to conceive a new way of seeing perfection -. With this motto, the Istituto Secoli explained the theme chosen for the 34th edition of the Secoli Fashion Show: Im-perfetto, that is - beyond stereotypes, beyond servility, beyond preconceptions - continues the manifesto. If you want to act in these terms, however, you need something tangible, concrete, to make such abstractions a testimony. This happens during the evening of Thursday, June 15, at the Alcatraz club in Milan, with the fashion show of seventy-five students of the last year of the course and of the masters.
The eight sub-themes of Im-perfetto are breakdown - re-composition, absence - lack, defect, illusion, kaos (with the help of Cupro by Asahi Kasei, ed), other beauty, gigantism and distortion. These correspond to as many collections for a total of one hundred and twelve garments, both men and women, who have walked on the catwalk, thus opening the Milan men’s fashion week.

Alle ore 21.15 si spengono le luci, si ravviva il volume della musica, il cicaleccio si spegne e l’attenzione si sposta sul palcoscenico che inaugura con un abito di Elena Pasqualin, cui seguono tutti gli altri in un vortice di colori, materiali e costruzioni interessanti. Tra le ispirazioni riscontrabili, uscita dopo uscita, c’è sicuramente Martin Margiela, Yamamoto e Rei Kawakubo, quest’ultima fondatrice nel 1973 di Comme des Garçon. Oltre ai tre creativi più importanti del panorama contemporaneo della moda, si nota anche una notevole attenzione ai trend attuali, come quello pensato da Alessandro Michele per il nuovo Gucci. Queste sono certamente basi importanti, imprescindibili se si vuole fare moda, ma non bastano a creare una visione d’insieme. Per realizzarla servono diverse competenze , sopratutto per chi ha l’obiettivo di creare una propria realtà, la sua maison de mode. Non tutti avranno infatti la fortuna di trovare i propri Pierre Bergé, Giancarlo Giammetti o Tammy Kane, sorella e partner dello stilista scozzese Christopher Kane. Diventa quindi imperativo l’elemento creativo, ma anche quello imprenditoriale, che si costruisce con l’esperienza e la formazione. Quest’ultima diventa essenziale anche per un’altro aspetto che in apparenza può sembrare scontato, ma che in realtà non lo è: saper cucire, tagliare, imbastire. Ma fortunatamente i designer dell’Istituto, fondato nel 1934 e specializzato nell’insegnamento della modellistica, non ne sono privi. Infatti, tutti gli abiti che hanno sfilato in questa serata estiva sono stati realizzati a mano da ogni singolo studente, che gli ha dapprima concepiti, pensati, e poi creati con l’ausilio di partner come Moncler, per il tema difetto, o Cupro, che ha fornito i tessuti per kaos.
La sfilata prosegue ed emergono in particolare il tema gigantismo, caratterizzato da volumi certamente over, ma in equilibrio con la silhouette, e allievi come Emma Gregis, Paola Gregori, Yajing Cui, Umberto Lucchina e Nicola Castellano. Questi ultimi due nomi chiudono la serata con gli altri designer di distorsione, che hanno presentato una notevole selezione di abiti maschili, per precisione sartoriale e creatività.
At 21.15 the lights turn off, the volume of music revives, the chats shut off and the attention moves to the stage opening with an Elena Pasqualin dress, followed by the others in a whirl of colors, materials and interesting constructions. Among the inspirations that can be found, exit after exit, is surely Martin Margiela, Yamamoto and Rei Kawakubo, the founder of Comme des Garçon in 1973. In addition to the three most important creators of the contemporary fashion scene, there is also a remarkable attention to current trends, such as that designed by Alessandro Michele for the new Gucci. These are certainly important basics, indispensable to work as fashion designer, but are not enough to create an overview. In order to accomplish this, they need different skills, especially for those who have the goal of creating their own reality, their maison de mode. Not everyone will be lucky enough to find their own Pierre Bergé, Giancarlo Giammetti or Tammy Kane, sister and partner of Scottish designer Christopher Kane. The creative element becomes imperative, but also the entrepreneurial element, built with experience and training. The latter is also essential for another aspect that apparently may seem to be obvious, but that is not really it: know how to sew, cut, bobbin. But fortunately the designers of the Istituto, founded in 1934 and specialized in teaching modeling, are not without it. In fact, all the dresses that have gone on this summer evening have been handmade by every single student who first conceived, thought, and then created with the help of partners like Moncler, for the defect theme, or Cupro, which provided fabrics for kaos.
The show continues and emerges in particular the gigantic theme, characterized by volumes surely over, but in balance with the silhouette, and students like Emma Gregis, Paola Gregori, Yajing Cui, Umberto Lucchina and Nicola Castellano. These last two names close the evening with other distortion’s designers, who have presented a remarkable selection of men's clothing, for their tailor-made and creative approach.

La premiazione, quasi più lunga a livello di durata rispetto alla rappresentazione, è ricca di premi ed è a coda dei saluti finali di tutti i ragazzi che al termine sono saliti sul defilé che prima ha visto i loro abiti sfilare per prendere gli applausi, tanto di rito quanto meritati. Chi è seduto tra le prime file può scorgere occhi lucidi, sorrisi smaglianti, ma anche coloro che se da un lato non vedono l’ora di essere lì, perché orgogliosi del proprio lavoro, dall’altro lato preferirebbero rimanere dietro le quinte, aspettando che la calma torni a regnare nei grandi spazi dell’Alcatraz. Immancabili anche quelli a cui invece il palcoscenico non incute alcun timore e che diventano protagonisti consapevoli.
I premiati, presentati da Giorgio Secoli, figlio del presidente Stefano Secoli, sono Yajing Cui e Gianmarco Cipolloni. Cipolloni inoltre è stato selezionato per uno stage presso G.A. Operations S.p.a. del gruppo Giorgio Armani e affinerà le sue competenze nel reparto sviluppo collezione del polo industriale di Trento. Mariagrazia Nozza è stata premiata con uno stage presso la sede di Moncler. Akira Minagawa, designer e fondatore del prestigioso fashion brand minä perhonen, ha scelto Roberta Dusi per uno stage di tre mesi in Giappone. Una formazione di due settimane per apprendere l’utilizzo del software PGM di SHIMA SEIKI è stata assegnata ad Alice Ortu, mentre Beatrice Sut, Federica Zaletti e Silvia Ramponi hanno vinto una borsa di studio di 500 euro. Mattia Rainò ha ricevuto il premio Macpi, che consiste nella fornitura di uno strumento tecnico per la stiratura professionale dei capi. Infine Francesca Bandera, Kim Bohee, Vasco Inzoli, Letizia Italiano, Daniela Melzi, Hwani So, Tan Song, Wang Xuqi, sono stati premiati con pubblicazioni del settore moda edite dalla casa editrice Tecniche Nuove.
E se ormai è assodato che la moda sia in qualche modo lettrice e interprete della società e dei suoi gusti, è anche vero il contrario: il pubblico è attento a come si muovono le tendenze, a “cosa va” stagione dopo stagione. Così, - anche quest’anno, la scuola dà l’opportunità a tutti gli interessati di votare, tra gli abiti presentati all’evento, il proprio favorito sul sito secolifashioncontest.com -, spiega Secoli. Data ultima per questa iniziativa è il 14 luglio 2017 e a essere premiati saranno tre designer ai quali andrà una borsa di studio del valore di 1.500 euro, da investire in uno dei corsi proposti dall’Istituto Secoli.

Mariagrazia Nozza was rewarded with an internship at Moncler's headquarter. Akira Minagawa, designer and founder of the prestigious fashion brand minä perhonen, chose Roberta Dusi for a three month internship in Japan. A two-week training to learn the use of SHMA SEIKI's PGM software was awarded to Alice Ortu, while Beatrice Sut, Federica Zaletti and Silvia Ramponi won a 500 euros scholarship. Mattia Rainò received the Macpi Award, which consists of providing a technical tool for garments’ professional ironing. And if it is determined that fashion is somehow a reader and interpreter of society and its tastes, it is also true the opposite: the public is mindful of how trends move, what "goes" season after season. So, even this year, the school gives everyone the opportunity to vote, among the clothes presented at the event, the favorite one, through the secolifashioncontest.com site, explains Secoli. The dead line for this initiative is July 14, 2017 and will be awarded three designers to which will be give a scholarship from the worth of 1,500 euros, to be invested in one of the courses offered by the Istituto Secoli.

La serata si chiude con il brindisi, con gli insegnanti commossi e orgogliosi tanto quanto i parenti delle future leve del sistema moda, con l’augurio che non si lascino sorprendere dai repentini cambiamenti di questa industria, e che rimangano sempre con l’occhio vivo e pieno di curiosità verso un mondo che toglie tanto quanto sa offrire. L’importante è sapersi accorgere di come funzionano le cose e di allenarsi a scegliere cosa è meglio per se stessi: non è sempre vero che per diventare grandi bisogna scendere per forza a compromessi.
È notte fuori dall’Alcatraz, sul percorso verso casa si notano alcuni ragazzi, forse amici di coloro che hanno appena concluso un percorso e ne hanno appena iniziato un altro, quello della professione, che, stanchi e felici, si abbracciano, consapevoli di aver fatto parte per qualche ora di un momento importante per le vite di molti presenti. E chissà, forse anche per la moda del futuro.
The evening closes with the toast, with the teachers as proud as the relatives of the future levers of the fashion system, with the hope that they will not be surprised by the sudden changes of this industry, and that always remain with the living eye and full of curiosity to a world that takes away as much as it can offer. The important thing is to know how things are and to work out to choose what is best for themselves: it is not always true that to become big you have to come down to compromises.
It is night outside Alcatraz, on the way home some guys, maybe friends of those who have just finished a journey and have just started another, that of the profession, who, tired and happy, embrace, aware that they have took part for a few hours of an important time for the lives of many present. And who knows, maybe even for the fashion of the future.
