Sguardo, osservazione, pensiero e ricerca sulla realtà. Sono elementi essenziali all’interno della recente produzione pittorica di Chiara Sorgato (Padova, 1985), in mostra con "Il Valore. Data Studies" a Milano presso Pananti Atelier, in via Aurelio Saffi 9, fino al 25 settembre. Il percorso espositivo a cura di Twenty14 è stato concepito come un’esperienza audiovisiva che consente al pubblico di entrare in contatto con la storia delle singole opere.
La ricerca di Chiara Sorgato si confronta costantemente con la realtà, con i suoi aspetti sociali e con il presente. L’attuale fase storica è senza dubbio caratterizzata da processi di accumulazione e crescita inesauribile di dati e informazioni che consentono, tra le loro funzioni, anche una rappresentazione del mondo. L’esposizione presenta allora un ciclo pittorico in progress che si interroga sui molteplici ambienti della realtà e sul valore dei dati all’interno del sistema contemporaneo, più precisamente, su quelle che l’artista definisce micro particelle numeriche di realtà.
Gaze, observation, thought and research on reality. They are key elements within the latest pictorial production by Chiara Sorgato (Padova, 1985), on display with "Il Valore. Data Studies"in Milan at Pananti Atelier, via Aurelio Saffi 9, until 25 September. The exhibition curated by Twenty14 was conceived as an audiovisual experience that allows the public to get in touch with the history of each work.
Chiara Sorgato's research is constantly interacting with reality, with its social aspects and with the present. The current historical moment is undoubtedly characterized by processes of accumulation and inexhaustible growth of data and information that allow, among their functions, also a representation of the world. Thus, the exhibition shows a pictorial cycle in progress that questions the multiple environments of reality and the value of data within the contemporary system, more precisely, on what is called numerical micro particles of reality by the artist.
Analizzando la realtà, elaborandone le informazioni-dettagli salienti, organizzando la materia pittorica a livello compositivo e cromatico, l’artista compie una ricerca in grado di veicolare tematiche socio-culturali attuali, suggerendo allo spettatore domande su un presente che gli appartiene e che si ripete storicamente. Sono opere dalla natura forte e determinata, narrativamente eloquenti, espressivamente energiche, dove rappresentazione e scelte cromatiche, forma e contenuto, convivono in maniera bilanciata, dinamica e pulsante.
La pittura incontra dunque l’analisi dei dati. Sul piano estetico il risultato di tale confronto non è una visione asettica e fredda, ma una manifestazione del potere evocativo dell’immagine che unitariamente alla sensibilità del fruitore avvia un’esperienza di natura contemplativa e riflessiva. Se i dati consentono di analizzare e ri-costruire una realtà, quest’ultima viene allora esperita, visualizzata e compresa poiché filtrata dal mezzo pittorico, aprendosi così a ulteriori possibilità di comprensione e assimilazione.
Analyzing reality, processing the outstanding information-details, arranging the pictorial material at a compositional and chromatic level, the artist carries out a research conveying current socio-cultural themes, suggesting to the viewer questions about a present that belongs to him and that repeats historically. They are works with a strong and determined nature, narratively eloquent, expressively energetic, where representation and chromatic choices, shape and content, coexist in a balanced, dynamic and pulsating way.
Thus, painting meets data analysis. On an aesthetic level, the result of this comparison is not an aseptic and cold vision, but a manifestation of the evocative power of the image which, together with the sensitivity of the user, initiates an experience of a contemplative and reflective nature. If the data make it possible to analyze and re-construct a reality, the latter is then experienced, visualized and figured out because it has been filtered by the pictorial medium, opening up to further possibilities for understanding and assimilation.
Tematiche come il rapporto tra culture e religioni e la condizione femminile, i conflitti tra le parti sociali sono parte di quell’universo che l’artista studia e restituisce sperimentando le possibilità del mezzo pittorico e della sua stessa poetica. Così, i lavori di Chiara Sorgato ricordano che immaginazione e rappresentazione, concretezza e ordinarietà sono parte essenziale e costante della natura e della condizione umana, e che il nostro punto di osservazione, così come le verità e i giudizi che formuliamo sono molteplici e soggettivi.
Topics such as the relationship between cultures and religions and the women condition, the conflicts between the social components are part of that universe investigated and rendered by the artist by exploring the possibilities of the pictorial medium and her own poetics. Thus, Chiara Sorgato's works remind us that imagination and representation, concreteness and ordinariness are an essential and constant part of nature and of the human condition, and that our point of view, as well as the truths and judgments we formulate, are multiple and subjective.
La mostra sarà visitabile dal 16 giugno al 25 settembre 2021.
