Qualche anno fa, in una creperia di Parigi due amiche italianissime decidono di fondare un brand di intimo femminile. Una è Chiara Marconi e l’altra è Federica Tiranti. Assieme, tra un cucchiaio di caramello salato e un salto nei luoghi più belli della Ville Lumière, danno vita a Chitè. E tornano in Italia pronte a dare via all’idea, la quale risponde a parole come inclusività, made in Italy ed ecosostenibilità. Ecco cosa ci hanno raccontato, comprese alcune novità.

A few years ago, in a creperie in Paris, two very Italian friends decided to found a brand of women's underwear. One is Chiara Marconi and the other is Federica Tiranti. Together, between a spoonful of salted caramel and a trip to the most beautiful places in the Ville Lumière, they give life to Chitè. And they return to Italy ready to give away the idea, which responds to words such as inclusiveness, made in Italy and eco-sustainability. Here's what they told us, including some news.

Qualche settimana fa una mia amica mi ha parlato di voi. Ho acquistato un vostro slip e quando l'ho ricevuto profumava di buono. Mettete cura in tutte le cose che fate?

- Chitè è un progetto tutto nostro, nato e portato avanti con amore, ma anche determinazione e resilienza: abbiamo creato la nostra azienda perché volevamo un motivo valido per cui svegliarci felici, orgogliose e soddisfatte ogni mattina. Quindi, sì, mettiamo cura in tutto ciò che facciamo. Avere cura – che è sinonimo di amare – è un gesto ancestrale che rivive anche grazie all’artigianalità delle nostre sarte: occorre cura in ogni singolo gesto per realizzare una lingerie di altissima qualità. Con altrettanta cura abbiamo selezionato il nostro team, composto da dieci donne under 35. Ognuna di noi sposa i valori di Chitè, che è un po’ il nostro bambino: è bello sapere di poterlo affidare anche a loro. Ogni nostra creazione viene creata nei minimi dettagli, dalla scelta dei tessuti italiani e di alta qualità alla spallina particolare fino a quando viene preparato il pacchetto spruzzato del nostro profumo creato appositamente. Niente è lasciato al caso. -

A few weeks ago a friend of mine told me about you. I bought one of your briefs and when I received it it smelled good. Do you take care in all the things you do?

- Chitè is our own project, born and carried out with love, but also determination and resilience: we created our company because we wanted a valid reason to wake up happy, proud and satisfied every morning. So, yes, we take care in everything we do. Taking care - which is synonymous with love - is an ancestral gesture that is also relived thanks to the craftsmanship of our seamstresses: care is needed in every single gesture to create the highest quality lingerie. We have selected our team with equal care, made up of ten women under 35. Each of us embraces the values ​​of Chitè, who is a bit like our child: it's nice to know we can entrust it to them too. Each of our creations is created in the smallest detail, from the choice of Italian and high quality fabrics to the particular shoulder strap until the sprayed package of our specially created perfume is prepared. Nothing is left to chance. -

È sempre stato così, anche all'inizio del progetto?

- Assolutamente sì, entrambe vivevamo all'estero e abbiamo scelto di rientrare in Italia perché volevamo che i nostri capi fossero interamente fatti da piccoli laboratori artigianali per supportare il loro lavoro. Anche per quanto riguarda i tessuti, i nostri fornitori sono italiani e la loro filiera produttiva è tutta incentrata sul rispetto ambientale. Oltre all'attenzione ai capi per noi è di fondamentale importanza l'attenzione e il supporto al nostro paese. -

Has it always been like this, even at the beginning of the project?

- Absolutely yes, we both lived abroad and we chose to return to Italy because we wanted our garments to be entirely made by small artisan workshops to support their work. Even with regard to fabrics, our suppliers are Italian and their production chain is entirely focused on respect for the environment. In addition to attention to the garments, attention and support to our country is of fundamental importance for us. -

Quali significati attribuite alla parola intimo?

- Intimo per noi è libertà, indipendenza d’animo e di pensiero, femminilità, autenticità. È bellezza consapevole. L’intimo, poi, è la prima cosa che si indossa la mattina e l'ultima che si toglie la sera, deve farti sentire bella, affascinante e sicura di te stessa. Poi c’è il significato di Blooming, che è il nome della collezione Chitè primavera-estate 2021. Significa fioritura e vuole offrire alle donne un messaggio di spensieratezza. È stato un anno molto difficile a livello globale, c’è bisogno di poter sognare, così come di leggerezza e freschezza. Il significato che attribuiamo all’intimo di questa stagione è un inno alla rinascita e alla riscoperta dell’amore per sé stesse. Ne abbiamo tutte davvero bisogno. -

What meanings do you attribute to the word intimate?

- Intimate for us is freedom, independence of mind and thought, femininity, authenticity. It is conscious beauty. Underwear, then, is the first thing you wear in the morning and the last thing you take off in the evening, it must make you feel beautiful, charming and confident. Then there is the meaning of Blooming, which is the name of the Chitè spring-summer 2021 collection. This word wants to offer women a message of lightheartedness. It has been a very difficult year globally, there is a need to be able to dream, as well as lightness and freshness. The meaning we attribute to the intimate of this season is a hymn to rebirth and the rediscovery of love for oneself. We all really need it. -

Parliamo allora di quest’ultima collezione, già disponibile online: quali sono le novità?

- Blooming, come dicevamo prima, per noi è una boccata di ossigeno dopo un anno difficile e complicato per tutti in cui si ha bisogno di rinascere. Dopo Genesi dedicata all’inverno, in cui ci siamo concentrati sulle radici della donna e sulla concretezza, la figura femminile nella primavera sboccia, proprio come vuole la stagione, irradiando ciò che la circonda di luminosità e prendendo consapevolezza della propria bellezza. Le novità? La nuova palette cromatica. È fresca, a tratti romantica: la collezione si tinge di nuance come il rosa pastello e il verde salvia. Altra grande novità è il primo slip dress Chitè: il vestito sottoveste amplia la nostra offerta di pigiami della linea iconica Lolita Goes Bed, composta da shorts e top di raso. Sarà il capo mai-senza della nostra primavera estate 2021. -

- Blooming, as we said before, for us is a breath of fresh air after a difficult and complicated year for everyone in which you need to be reborn. After Genesis dedicated to winter, in which we focused on women’s roots and concreteness, the female figure blossoms in spring, just as the season wants, radiating what surrounds it with brightness and becoming aware of its own beauty. The news? The new color palette. It is fresh, at times romantic: the collection is tinged with shades such as pastel pink and sage green. Another big news is the first Chitè slip dress: the slip dress expands our range of pajamas from the iconic Lolita Goes Bed line, consisting of shorts and satin tops. It will be the never-without piece of our spring summer 2021. -

Quali sono i vostri capi preferiti di tutto il mondo Chitè?

- Il reggiseno Lolita un capo senza tempo che ogni donna dovrebbe avere nel proprio cassetto, pulito elegante e sofisticato. Andando sul particolare, invece, il modello Aria che come indica il nome è leggerissimo, fatto di tulle ricamato e molto colorato. -

What are your favorite pieces from around the Chitè world?

- The Lolita bra is a timeless garment that every woman should have in her drawer, clean, elegant and sophisticated. Going to the detail, however, the Aria model which, as the name indicates, is very light, made of embroidered and very colorful tulle. -

Eco-sostenibilità. Una parola sempre più sdoganata che, come certe notizie, è bene che sia verificata vista la tendenza a usarla ovunque. Voi ne siete paladine. Perché questa scelta e come la realizzate?

- Abbracciamo la sostenibilità ambientale attraverso la cosiddetta slow couture, che concepiamo come un ritorno alle origini. Ovvero, un ritorno nei laboratori artigianali in cui sarte esperte realizzano lingerie nella migliore tradizione del made in Italy. Prendiamo le distanze dal fast fashion perché ridiamo valore al savoir faire, al tempo e alla qualità dei tessuti. Vogliamo che le donne abbiano la possibilità di scegliere e indossare completi intimi che apprezzeranno ancora nel corso degli anni e che, soprattutto, dureranno a lungo perché sono di ottima fattura. Inoltre, offriamo anche dei capi di lingerie in 100% cotone organico. -

Eco-sustainability. A word that is increasingly cleared through customs that, like certain news, should be verified given the tendency to use it everywhere. You are champions of it. Why this choice and how do you make it?

- We embrace environmental sustainability through the so-called slow couture, which we conceive of as a return to origins. That is, a return to the artisan workshops where expert seamstresses make lingerie in the best tradition of made in Italy. We distance ourselves from fast fashion because we restore value to savoir faire, time and the quality of the fabrics. We want women to have the ability to choose and wear intimate outfits that they will still appreciate over the years and which, above all, will last a long time because they are well made. In addition, we also offer 100% organic cotton lingerie. -

Un mito del vostro entourage di artigiani nelle langhe è Marinella, la Capo Sarta. Come organizzate il lavoro, dalla creazione alla produzione?

- La creazione di ogni collezione parte da un'analisi di merchandising attenta alle richieste del mercato per poi passare alla scelta stilistica che rispecchi i valori di Chitè. La scelta di ogni tessuto è attenta alla qualità, all'italianità e alla sostenibilità. Tutti i laboratori sono sotto il nostro diretto controllo sia quelli del taglio che quelli del confezionamento per poter controllare ogni fase del processo produttivo. -

A myth of your entourage of artisans in the Langhe is Marinella, the Capo Sarta. How do you organize your work, from creation to production?

- The creation of each collection starts from a merchandising analysis attentive to market demands and then moves on to the stylistic choice that reflects the values ​​of Chitè. The choice of each fabric is attentive to quality, Italian style and sustainability. All the laboratories are under our direct control both those of cutting and those of packaging to be able to control every phase of the production process. -
