Esiste ancora della gente assolutamente convinta che il post Covid-19 (se di post si può parlare e scrivere) abbia reso il mondo migliore. Sono gli stessi che, durante la quarantena di qualche mese fa, erano convinti che le persone sarebbero state più resilienti, che avrebbero messo da parte gli egoismi poiché come unico fine c’era quello di costruire una società solidale, in cui l’uno aiutava l’altro. Tutte stupidaggini. Le ultime ore, infatti, hanno dimostrato che non solo il corona virus prosegue nella sua corsa, benché sia effettivamente meno potente, almeno in Italia, ma anche che gli esseri umani sono ben lontani da essere migliori.

They are the same people who, during the quarantine a few months ago, were convinced that people would be more resilient, that they would put aside selfishness since the only purpose was to build a solidary society, in which one helped the other. Con un tweet del suo legale nel quale si annunciava la sua morte, l’attivista e avvocato per i diritti umani Ebru Timtik si è spenta in un ospedale di Istanbul, dopo ben 238 giorni di sciopero della fame. Il digiuno era motivato dalla negazione da parte del sistema giudiziario del suo paese, la Turchia, a concederle un processo equo, dopo una condanna a 13 anni di reclusione per (presunto) terrorismo. Aveva 42 anni. Ai suoi parenti è stato impedito di accompagnare il feretro, una volta fatta l’autopsia. Tafferugli e riti funebri sono avvenuti in varie zone della città. Centinaia di persone hanno scandito "Ebru Timtik è immortale”.
With a tweet from her lawyer announcing her death, human rights activist and lawyer Ebru Timtik died in a hospital in Istanbul after 238 days of hunger strike. The fast was motivated by the refusal by the judicial system of her country, Turkey, to grant her a fair trial, after a 13-year sentence for (alleged) terrorism. She was 42 years old. Her relatives were prevented from accompanying the coffin once the autopsy was done. Scuffles and funeral rites took place in various areas of the city. Hundreds of people chanted "Ebru Timtik is immortal".

Negli Stati Uniti d’America, prossimi a nuove elezioni, dopo George Floyd, Rayshard Brooks e Breonna Taylor viene ucciso a Lafayette, in Louisiana, Trayford Pellerin, un altro ragazzo afroamericano. 11 proiettili in corpo, da parte di un gruppo di poliziotti, perché sospettato di portare con sé un coltello e di avere tentato di fuggire dopo che gli agenti l’hanno colpito con il taser. È evidente che nella terra dei liberi, della gloria e della ricchezza qualcosa non funziona, e da molto tempo. La speranza è che Joe Biden, candidato democratico alla presidenza, il quale si appresta a sfidare l’attuale leader Donald Trump, vincesse, riesca a cambiare una volta per tutte il secondo emendamento che recita, in italiano: “Essendo necessaria alla sicurezza di uno Stato libero una ben organizzata milizia, il diritto dei cittadini di detenere e portare armi non potrà essere infranto.” Da brividi.

It is evident that in the land of the free, of glory and of wealth something is not working, and for a long time. A questo si aggiunga una crisi economica che sta per esplodere: ottobre, il mese a partire dal quale le aziende potranno nuovamente licenziare, è vicino. E sarebbe questo il post Covid serenissimo? Assolutamente no.
