"From now in then": Jason Hirata in mostra da Fanta Milano

Una struttura ad arco, a un primo sguardo, una come tante, eredità dalle ferrovie di Milano. Lo spazio espositivo Fanta-MLN è un unico ambiente con soffitto bianco a volta, illuminato con luce naturale e artificiale. All’ingresso una coppia di ante di ferro scorrevoli accoglie i visitatori, in un angolo una scatola elettrica, i cui fili scompaiono nel muro e un piccolo rubinetto azzurro.

An arched structure, at first glance, one like many others, inherited from the railways of Milan. The Fanta-MLN exhibition space is a unique environment with a white vaulted ceiling, illuminated with natural and artificial light. At the entrance a pair of sliding iron doors welcomes visitors, in one corner an electrical box, whose wires disappear into the wall and a small blue tap.

Fanta, dal 17 aprile al 5 giugno, ospita l’esposizione From now in then di Jason Hirata, dove tre opere saranno protagoniste. Painted Square, promossa da Edilmanca, copre quasi l'intero piano orizzontale con una liscia vernice grigia, lasciando intravedere una sezione di cemento grezzo lungo il muro sud-est. Sul fondo della galleria Four Framed Portraits, quattro opere del fotografo Paolo Nava, incorniciate da Cornice Studio. L’artista lascia che le immagini si raccontino da sole e non aggiunge nulla alle cornici che racchiudono i ritratti verticali dei tre galleristi e dell'artista, organizzatori della mostra. Le foto, scansionate dai passaporti, mostrano segni curvi e ologrammi. UNITED, OF AMERICA e ITALIANA sono visibili sui volti, sovrapponendosi loro parzialmente, ci regalano indizi e propongono un invito alla narrazione.

Fanta, from april 17th to june 5th, hosts the exhibition From now in then by Jason Hirata, where three works will be the protagonists. Painted Square, promoted by Edilmanca, covers almost the entire horizontal plane with a smooth gray paint, revealing a section of rough concrete along the southeast wall. At the bottom of the Four Framed Portraits gallery, four works by the photographer Paolo Nava, framed by Cornice Studio. The artist lets the images tell themselves and adds nothing to the frames that enclose the vertical portraits of the three gallery owners and the artist, organizers of the exhibition. The photos, scanned from passports, show curved marks and holograms. UNITED, OF AMERICA and ITALIANA are visible on the faces, overlapping them partially, they give us clues and propose an invitation to the narration.

Nelle giornate di sabato un autista di NCC Milano Services siederà su un'auto nera, un furgone o una berlina, a bordo strada fuori dallo spazio espositivo e avrà il compito di accompagnare i visitatori della mostra dove vorranno, proponendo un servizio che è un'opera d'arte, chiamata Car.

On Saturdays, a NCC Milano Services driver will sit in a black car, a van or a sedan, on the side of the road outside the exhibition space and will have the task of accompanying visitors to the exhibition wherever they want, offering a service that is a work of art, called "Car".
