Milano accoglie lo Sheikh Zayed Book Award nella serata di venerdì 5 ottobre, a partire dalle 18.30, presso Villa Necchi Campiglio, in via Mozart 12. Il premio, nato nel 2007 in memoria dello sceicco Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, avrà luogo in una delle ville più note e belle del capoluogo lombardo e accoglierà ospiti importanti, come il filosofo Carlo Sini, il cui contributo si rivelerà in una lectio minimalis su cultura, logos e pensiero ci porta al cuore della parola, nel luogo dove si fonde con il pensiero.
Milan welcomes the Sheikh Zayed Book Award, on the evening of Friday 5 October, starting at 6.30 pm, at Villa Necchi Campiglio, in via Mozart 12. The prize, born in 2007 in memory of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, will take place in a of the most famous and beautiful villas of the Lombard capital and will welcome important guests, such as the philosopher Carlo Sini, which attendance will be revealed in a lectio minimalis on culture, logos and thought leads us to the heart of the word, in the place where it merges with the thought.
Una città italiana, sebbene multiculturale come Milano, si apre a un evento dedicato alla letteratura araba. Fatto importante se si considera il clima attuale, in cui anziché erigere ponti vengono innalzati muri e pronunciate parole non troppo edificanti, ai fini di un’integrazione corretta dei popoli stranieri.
Si avrà modo di apprezzare le voci di Mustafa Al-Slaiman e di Chiara Claudi leggono brani della Divina Commedia di Dante e de L’Epistola del Perdono di Abu'l 'Ala al-Ma’arri, massimo poeta arabo del XI secolo. Due opere nate in territori lontani, che hanno echi comuni. Le musiche di Aksak Project, saranno la colonna sonoro della serata.

Il premio, aperto al pubblico, è rivolto a editori, scrittori, filosofi, poeti, saggisti che nella letteratura e nelle arti hanno saputo raccontare al mondo la cultura araba, per le categorie: Letteratura, Letteratura per l’Infanzia, Giovani esordienti, Traduzione, Critica Letteraria e Artistica, Cultura araba in altre lingue, Editoria e Tecnologia, Contributo allo sviluppo delle Nazioni, Personalità Culturale dell’Anno. Tanti onori uniti da un unico simbolo: la parola. Incisiva e mai come oggi parte fondamentale del processo di integrazione e relazione dei popoli. Ed è per questo, probabilmente, che la kermesse, da febbraio 2018, in collaborazione con la Frankfurter Buchmesse, ha promosso il prestigioso Fondo per la Traduzione di libri del mondo arabo. Un importante segnale di apertura e di concreto sostegno economico, poiché è destinato a tutti quegli editori che vorranno conoscere le voci del panorama letterario arabo e che si impegneranno a tradurle nella propria lingua.
The award, open to the public, is aimed at publishers, writers, philosophers, poets, essayists who in literature and the arts have been able to tell the world about Arab culture, for the categories: Literature, Literature for Children, Young Beginners, Translation, Literary Criticism and Artistic, Arabic culture in other languages, Publishing and Technology, Contribution to the development of Nations, Cultural Personality of the Year.
