Sono i giorni della Torino Art Week 2019. Tanti sono gli eventi, altrettante le gallerie aperte al pubblico. Musei pieni di gente si contendono il primato di biglietti venduti. Artisti - giovani e affermati - collezionisti, appassionati e critici invadono le vie della città sabauda. In questo circo culturale è bene fare un po’ di chiarezza. Quali sono i luoghi e gli happening più in vista? Cerchiamo di fornire una sorta di mappa.
These are the days of the Torino Art Week 2019. There are many events, just as many galleries open to the public. Museums full of people compete for the record of sold tickets. Artists - young and established - collectors, enthusiasts and critics invade the streets of the Savoy city. In this cultural circus it is good to make some clarity. What are the most prominent places and happenings? We try to provide a kind of map.
Artissima è una delle tappe fondamentali. La 26ma edizione vede la direzione di Ilaria Bonacossa. Quest’anno la kermesse sarà aperta al pubblico dal primo al 3 novembre con 208 gallerie provenienti da 43 Paesi. Oltre alle istituzioni private, vi saranno anche corner dedicati ai libri d’arte e talk con i personaggi più in vista del settore, fino a domenica alle 19, quando le porte chiuderanno lasciandosi dietro un altro anno. Tra gli incontri più interessanti si segnalano le Visite Guidate, programmate ogni giorno alle 13, ognuna basata su un tema diverso: About Artissima, Made in Italy, Art for the Future, Collective Rules, Talent Road e Performative Visions.
Tornano i Walkie Talkies, dialoghi brevi tra curatori e collezionisti. Come quello del 1 novembre tra Alessio Antoniolli (Direttore, Gasworks e Triangle Network Londra) ed Eugenio Re Rebaudengo (collezionista e fondatore Artuner), dalle 15.30 alle 16.30. Se si è curiosi di sentire il punto di vista di un artista allora non si tralasci l’intermezzo tra il duo Masbedo e Philipp Bollmann (curatore Sammlung Wemhöner, Berlino), il 2 novembre dalle 16.30 alle 17.30. Il 3 novembre, infine, c’è Lucia Aspesi (assistente curatore, Pirelli Hangar Bicocca, Milano) in conversazione con Franco Lizza (collezionista).
Per quanto riguarda i giovani artisti e il mondo della fotografia, da non perdere è il Sunday Photo: 2° edizione del talent fotografico de La Stampa.
Artissima is one of the fundamental stages. The 26th edition sees the direction of Ilaria Bonacossa. This year the festival will be open to the public from November 1st to 3rd with 208 galleries from 43 countries. In addition to private institutions, there will also be corners dedicated to art books and talks with the most prominent figures in the sector, until Sunday at 7 pm, when the doors will close, leaving behind another year. Among the most interesting meetings are the Visite Guidate, scheduled every day at 1pm, each based on a different theme: About Artissima, Made in Italy, Art for the Future, Collective Rules, Talent Road e Performative Visions.
The Walkie Talkies, brief dialogues between curators and collectors, are back. Like that of 1 November between Alessio Antoniolli (Director, Gasworks and Triangle Network London) and Eugenio Re Rebaudengo (collector and Artuner’s founder), from 15.30 to 16.30. If you are curious about the point of view of an artist then don't forget the interlude between the duo Masbedo and Philipp Bollmann (curator Sammlung Wemhöner, Berlin), on November 2nd from 4.30pm to 5.30pm. Finally, on November 3, there is Lucia Aspesi (assistant curator, Pirelli Hangar Bicocca, Milan) in conversation with Franco Lizza (collector).
For what concerns young artists and the world of photography, the Sunday Photo: 2nd edition of La Stampa's photo talent is not to be missed.
Ma la settimana dell’arte di Torino non si esaurisce solo tra le mura e gli stand del Lingotto. Tutta la città abbraccerà l’arte e i suoi ospiti. A cominciare dalla Pinacoteca Gianni e Marella Agnelli, la quale dedica una mostra al mondo nipponico: Hokusai, Hiroshige, Hasui. Viaggio nel Giappone che cambia.
Non c’è dubbio che tra gli artisti contemporanei più interessanti vi siano l’americana Lara Nickel e l’italiano di Udine Nicola Toffolini. I due, assieme al maestro Franco Rasma, partecipano a tre personali all’interno di un solo spazio: Fondazione 107.
Altre due personali imperdibili sono quelle di Simon Starling A-A’, B-B’ - per la sesta volta a Torino - presso Franco Noero, in cui vi è un complesso insieme di elementi e immagini tra loro connesse per mezzo di giustapposizioni, trasformazioni fisiche, fatti storici, congetture, insieme alle narrative e alla logica personale che hanno da sempre distinto la pratica dell’artista. La seconda si svolge alla galleria Mazzoleni e vede come protagonista Hans Hartung.

There is no doubt that among the most interesting contemporary artists are the American Lara Nickel and the Italian from Udine, Nicola Toffolini. The two, together with the master Franco Rasma, participate in three solo shows within one space: Fondazione 107.
Two other must-see ones are those of Simon Starling A-A’, B-B’ - for the sixth time in Turin - with Franco Noero, in which there is a complex set of elements and images connected to each other by means of juxtapositions, transformations physical, historical facts, conjectures, along with narratives and personal logic that have always distinguished the artist's practice. The second takes place at the Mazzoleni gallery and sees Hans Hartung as the protagonist.
Continua il sostegno alle nuove generazioni. Infatti, fino al 17 novembre all’Accademia Albertina c’è Building a New World con la II edizione del FISAD Festival Internazionale delle Scuole d’Arte e Design e alla XIV edizione del PNA, Premio Nazionale delle Arti, promossi dal MIUR, che portano in città 35 realtà italiane tra Accademie e scuole d’Arte e 20 Accademie straniere.
Support for new generations continues. In fact, until November 17 at the Accademia Albertina there is Building a New World with the 2nd edition of the FISAD International Festival of Art and Design Schools and at the XIV edition of the PNA, National Award of the Arts, promoted by MIUR, which bring in the city 35 Italian realities including academies and art schools and 20 foreign academies.
