Alla parola prediligono l’azione. Il lavoro e i viaggi. Gli spostamenti necessari per far diventare un piccolo progetto un importante punto di riferimento per la moda fatta in Italia. È il paradigma di ViBi Venezia, brand fondato pochi anni fa dalle sorelle Viola e Vera Arrivabene. Il prodotto che il duo ha deciso di reinterpretare muove dalla tradizione veneziana ed è la furlana, la calzatura dei gondolieri. Con il tempo, grazie ai social network e agli elementi intrinsechi del prodotto, la scarpa firmata ViBi è giunta ai piedi di icone internazionali come Kate Moss, tanto per citarne una.

Alla Fashion Week milanese di settembre hanno presentato le nuove proposte, ampliandone la gamma, già piuttosto ricca, includendo anche delle sneaker in velluto. E da quell’occasione nasce questa intervista.

It is the paradigm of ViBi Venezia, a brand founded a few years ago by the sisters Viola and Vera Arrivabene. The product that the duo has decided to reinterpret moves from the Venetian tradition and is the furlana, the footwear of the gondoliers. With time, thanks to the social networks and the intrinsic elements of the product, the shoe signed by ViBi has reached the feet of international icons such as Kate Moss, just to mention one.

At the Milan Fashion Week in September they presented the new proposals, extending the range, already quite rich, also including velvet sneakers. And from that occasion this interview is born.

Viola, Vera, cosa rappresentano per voi le furlane, tanto da avere deciso di dedicare a loro il vostro brand?

- Le furlane sono le scarpe della nostra infanzia e dei nostri primi passi. Ci siamo cresciute! -

Viola, Vera, what do the furlane represent for you, so much so that you have decided to dedicate your brand to them?

- The furlane are the shoes of our childhood and of our first steps. We grew up with them! -

La produzione è in Italia, quale valore date al fattore del made in Italy?

- Lavoriamo con un artigiano in Friuli Venezia Giulia, per noi è molto importante ricordare le origini dei nostri prodotti. È difficile trovare prodotti interamente made in Italy e noi siamo fiere di sapere che il nostro lo è. -

Production is in Italy, what value do you give to the made in Italy factor?

- We work with a craftsman in Friuli Venezia Giulia, it is very important for us to remember the origins of our products. It is difficult to find products entirely made in Italy and we are proud to know that ours is. -

La palette di colori delle furlane ViBi Venezia è sofisticata, esteticamente equilibrata. È su questo aspetto che si focalizza la ricerca o ci sono anche altri elementi, come materiali, su cui rivolgete l'attenzione?

- Lavoriamo sempre con nuovi materiali che proviamo a inserire in ogni collezione, ci piace provare cose nuove. -

The color palette of the ViBi Venezia’s furlane is sophisticated, aesthetically balanced. Is on this aspect that research is focused, or are there other elements, such as materials, on which you turn your attention?

- We always work with new materials that we try to include in each collection, we like to try new things. -

A livello pratico come viene realizzata una vostra furlana?

- Le nostre furlane sono fatte a mano, seguendo diversi passaggi e con molta attenzione ai dettagli. -

On a practical level how is your furlana realized?

- Our furlane are handmade, following different steps and with great attention to detail. -

Durante la Settimana della Moda di Milano avete presentato la nuova collezione e un modello di sneaker in velluto, presto in vendita sul vostro sito web. Pensate di aggiungere altri modelli?

- Speriamo proprio di sì! -

During Milan Fashion Week, you presented the new collection and a velvet sneaker model, soon on sale on your website. Do you plan to add other models?

- We really hope so! -

Qual è la vostra idea di moda e di lusso?

- Secondo noi la moda è molto personale, ognuno deve seguire i propri gusti e, soprattutto, scegliere ciò che fa sentire bene con se stessi. -

What is your idea of ​​fashion and luxury?

- In our opinion, fashion is very personal, everyone must follow their tastes and, above all, choose what makes them feel good about themselves. -

Quali sono le vostre fonti di ispirazione?

- La nostra fonte di ispirazione più grande è sicuramente Venezia. Le nostre collezioni si ispirano anche ai viaggi che facciamo in giro per il mondo, infatti cerchiamo di riadattare la tipica furlana del gondoliere nella chiave di altri paesi. -

What are your sources of inspiration?

- Venice is our greatest source of inspiration. Our collections are also inspired by the travels we make around the world, actually we try to readjust the typical furlana of the gondolier in the key of other countries. -
